Today I ate an apple

A Gala Apple to be exact.
 I am ready to confess! I'm not a very healthy eater. I rarely eat fruit. If you asked me when the last time I had a piece of fruit was ... I would have to say ... maybe a couple of weeks ago ... maybe , I had a banana when I was on vacation.
The reason for this confession? In a few weeks I will be going back to work ... working long hours. I need to eat better. I need to have more energy. I need less salt ... less empty calories.
Loosing 20 to 30 pounds will not make me a super model, but i will help me to feel more energized. Not that I really have a set goal of what I want to lose ... I just want to feel ... better and have more energy.
So, if you have any tips ... PLEASE SHARE THEM!!! 
I know that a great deal of my success will be planning. I mean ... how much planning goes into grabbing a bag of chips?

After 30 ...

They say that after 30 your body takes twice as long to heal.

Well ... I sure hope so!! I mean heal ... and hopefully sooner than that!

The past few days I have been moving slow and feeling achy. Yes, part of it was because of my work and sleep or lack of sleep schedules. But part of it was also because, Saturday at work I fell. I was hurrying, carrying 2 cases and tripped. I fell hard on my left knee and caught my right side on a case.

The only time I have pain in my knee is when I kneel on it .... so don't kneel on it... right!!??

BUT... the upper right side of my body is achy... a little pain when I cough or sneeze. At least nothing is broken, but I feel pretty ... yuck ... pretty stiff. Hopefully, by the end of the week things will be back to normal.

Well, this certainl is a nice way to start . . .NOT!

Today I am not feeling well . . . WHY??? Because my husband has not felt well for 6 days. It is not the flu. It is some other yucky illness. I have the chills, so that means I have a temp. My throat is . . . well not really sore yet, not scratchy, not dry. . . it just IS. My tummy is ok. In fact, I had chilli for lunch. This certainly is not a nice way to start a new year!

Those 2 "dirty little words"...

Diet and exercise. Why do we have such a hard time with them? Diet is defined as; What a person or animal usually eats or drinks, daily fare. Exercise is defined as; Active use or operation, performance. So, basically; diet and exercise are anything you eat and drink . . . AND . . . any movement you make.

I have always done both, as I am sure everyone has, but am concentrating on them more at the moment. I had decided that exercise would help build my endurance to lug around my 1o cases of equipment that I need for work. These rang from 15 - 65 pounds. It has helped me immensely.

Diet was more for the vacation that I will be taking soon. Going to warm places and shedding clothes always feels and looks better when you are firm and trim.

So next time when thinking of diet and exercise . . . it may be a little easier if we all realize that we always are in process of those two things. We just adjust them to the purpose that we need. :)
