Thematic Photographic 119 - Turning Colder

Here in the Mid-Western US, the signs of cooler days are the grand bursts of color. I am not a fan of cooler or cold weather. Give me a HOT, sweltering summer day anytime. However, I love the beauty that the cooler and cold weather brings. Here is a little peek at what my neighborhood looks like in mid October.

All too soon ... it's going to look like this ...

Although the last picture does have a hint of awesome beauty, it will be reality too soon. Your third photo is amazing, if you stood back and allowed the group of trees to become one, it would be a fantastic still picture....I wonder if they planted them in that fashion to create the look of one tree blooming in such autumn lavishness! You actually have Carmi's last few themes grouped in one, still life, parallel, branching, and turning colder all in one!

I love the colors in your neighborhood. I hope they hang in for a while, and that the snow takes a while to arrive, and then doesn't stick around for too long.

I'm also not hugely fond of the cold. It's kind of enjoyable at first, but it loses its appeal after a few grinding weeks. By December, I'm ready for a beach. I think we'll all be ready by then :)

I love how you've chosen to interpret the theme this week. You've inspired me to get outside and explore my own 'hood a bit more.

The snow one looks so inviting...! and Narnia-ish, I expect the wicked queen to turn up on her sleigh any minute ;-)

Love your pictures. I'm not much of a fan of colder weather, one of the reasons I stay in Utah. But your pictures bring me back to my youth in New England. I love the snow one too - even though I hate the cold, I love the calm that a huge snowfall brings. Those kinds of days, where the streets are barren of cars, are wonderful.
