Instead of making a resolution to change yourself, make one to be yourself ♥
This statement , at least for me, ignites a whole array of questions.
Are you satisfied with who you are?
Are you satisfied with where your life is or where it's headed?
Are you just plain satisfied with all aspects of your life? You're content?
There is nothing you want to change about yourself or your life ... you would be happy to just stay the same?

I pretty well make resolutions all year long, on an "as need" basis. I'm pretty content with who I am and where I am -- not meaning to be smug. But as I get older I refuse to fight the battles I know I can't win and after all these years, I know what those are. When you're younger you think you can change the world, when you're older, you know you can only do one step at a time, so that's what I try to major in. I guess I try to be myself and be satisfied. I'm a realist, not a cynic :)
I agree, over the span of time things come up that you need to address.
For instance, I would love to loose some weight, but, as I am getting older that is easier said than done ... BUT ... I can choose to eat healthier and be more active. This may or may not make the weight come off, but I am sure it will give me more energy to do the things I want to enjoy.
I am pretty satisfied with myself, but feel there is always room for improvement.
