Winter weather ...coming back

Last week I posted about early Spring  weather. We had a couple of days with temperatures  in the 50's and 60's. Almost all our snow had  melted. THEN, Friday night it began ... the winter weather advisory alerts. Awww ... so is the weather in the mid-west.

Last night when I was out walking the dogs, there was a full moon and you could see the clouds coming in.
Of course, even though it was freezing out, my photography hormones kicked in. I'm sure the cars that were passing my home at 12:30am were wondering who was out with a camera ... taking picture of who knows what.

LOL

How I wish you could get the detail of the moon and the clouds together ... but it doesn't work that way.
As for "Winter weather", so far we have gotten only rain and slushy rain. They are still saying that we are to get up to 6 inches of snow tonight.

WHERE ARE YOU EARLY SPRING?!

I'm linking up to Debbiedoos Newbie Party.
Some day I'll surprise you and post a craft.  :)

Early Spring ~A Love / Hate relationship~

Here it is mid February, not that cold weather is past, but hopefully the brutal weather is done. This time of year I have Love / Hate feelings for the weather and what is going on outside. Here in the upper Mid-West the weather can change at the drop of a hat. For instance, today's temperature is suppose to be close 60f (15c). Tomorrow's temperature is suppose to be 32f (0c).

Things I HATE about early Spring~
Vast temperature differences.
Dampness
Cold, rainy days and nights
brown/gray scenery
mud

Things I LOVE about early Spring~
more daylight
birds singing
Days can be warm.
buds on tree limbs and bushes
not wearing a heavy coat
fresh air
hints of green grass

This is what it looks like outside today.

This is what I'm waiting to see

Wishing you a great week-end. Hoping  the weather is nice enough that you can get out and enjoy it.

Thematic Photographic 128 #2

Thought I'd share a few more winter pic before moving on. This is the same storm. We ended up getting about 10 inches of heavy, wet snow.

Sometimes, in the early morning light, when there is a lot of white in a  photo, it takes on a bluish tint. I did change this photo to b&w so that you could see things a little clearer. You may be thinking that my lens is dirty, actually, it is water from melting snow. It is snowing like CRAZY. The snow is giving everything a hazy look.

This is my neighbors yard.

Rain, rain ... go away ...

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tired of rain! I think it has been raining a week now. Hmmmm ... I don't even remember how long it has been. I remember that last Saturday we did not go to the Farmer's Market because of the cold and the rain. Sunday, it didn't rain, but it was cool out.
But, every day since then it has rained. Most of the time it has been a gentle rain and not an all day rain. However, it has been cool, sometimes, down right cold. Last night was cold, the heat went on a few time. Last night, there was lots of lightening. I an so tired of being lulled to sleep by rain and waking up to the rush of water going down the down spout.

Rain ... Rain ... Go AWAY!
